Wizz Air Starts New Vilnius Route To Gothenburg In Sweden

Vilnius, 26 March 2017 – Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today started operating a new route from its Vilnius base. The newest WIZZ service connects the Lithuanian capital with Gothenburg in Sweden with two weekly flights. Seats on the route are on sale from just EUR 9.99* on wizzair.com.

Gothenburg is the second largest city of Sweden. Located on the west coast of the country, the city has a rich cultural heritage and hosts some of the largest annual events is Scandinavia. Gothenburg is also home to many students with its renowned universities.

In 2016, Wizz Air carried 1,2 million passengers on it low-fare Lithuanian routes, which represents a 27% growth year over year and supports 900 jobs** in associated industries. WIZZ has now has four aircraft based at Vilnius Airport employing over 100 local, customer-oriented crew.

With its new Gothenburg route, Wizz Air now offers a total of 29 low-fare services to 15 countries from its three Lithuanian airports, providing affordable access between the country and the rest of Europe for both business and leisure travelers.
