The project is being developed in two stages: construction of the first building with an area of 7,200 m2should be completed in May, the second building of 14,800 m2 will be finished in the last quarter of 2018. The total investments of the real estate development company MG Valda in the business centre amount to 40 mill. EUR. “We have been sticking to the initial plan. While completing the first building of Park Town business centre, we are starting on the second one. The business centre will boast the highest quality offices with class A energy efficiency. Class A energy efficiency is now an absolute necessity for companies demanding superior requirements for the working environment,“ said the Director General of MG Valda Sigita Survilaitė-Mekionienė. It is intended that the beginning of this summer will see the first tenants move to the first Park Town office building. To date, 80 %of the area of the first building has been reserved. According to Mrs Survilaitė-Mekionienė, the new business centre differs from others in its sustainability concept: some energy will be obtained from renewable energy resources and solutions leading to energy savings will be implemented. The Park Town office buildings will be the first in Lithuania to have solar modules in their facades; aerothermal and geothermal solutions will be used for heating; each of the premises will have autonomous lighting and heating control; rainwater will be collected and used to water plants; there will be energy-generating elevators, occupancy sensors and an automated building monitoring system. The business centre is being designed and fitted out in compliance with BREEAM, one of the most popular certification systems globally. Park Town aims to be rated as excellent – the first highest certification evaluation in Lithuania. The Park Town business complex will also feature a conference centre, a kindergarten, a sports club, and a restaurant; other daily services will be provided too. The buildings will have two spacious terraces with views opening to the future Japanese garden that adjoins the business centre. One terrace will be closed and will be reserved for the needs of customers and employees, while the second one, a green terrace of 500 m2, will be open for residents and guests of Vilnius. Employees working in the office buildings will be able to cycle to work – there will be ample bicycle storage, shower facilities and a repair workshop.
